Terms of Service

1. This agreement

Valen (“Valen”, “we”, “us”) is a modification for Minecraft 1.8.9, operated by Valen. These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and us covering the Valen website, the loader, the client itself and any support we provide.

If you do not agree to any part of these terms, do not buy a license and do not use the client.

2. Who may buy

You may buy a license if you are at least 16 years old, or if you are at least 13 and a parent or guardian accepts these terms on your behalf. The parent or guardian should supervise your use and keep a copy of the agreement. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement and make the payment. Checkout does not collect age or parental verification. If you are under 13, do not buy or use Valen.

3. What you are buying

A license is a personal right to use the software, not ownership of it. Subject to these terms and to your payment clearing, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and run Valen for your own personal, non-commercial use, on one machine at a time.

All intellectual property in Valen — source code, compiled builds, artwork, interface design and branding — remains ours. Nothing in these terms transfers any of it to you.

Every plan is one one-time purchase for a fixed term — 30 days, 90 days or a year — and ends when that term does. Nothing renews automatically. A licence is also only usable for as long as we continue to operate and distribute Valen. See section 7.

4. What you may not do

You must not, and must not help anyone else to:

• share, sell, rent, lend, sublicense or publish your license key;
• redistribute the loader or the client, in whole or in part, modified or not;
• reverse engineer, decompile, deobfuscate or otherwise attempt to derive the source of any part of the software, except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded;
• circumvent, disable or interfere with licensing, authentication or hardware binding, including by spoofing a hardware identifier;
• attack, overload or probe our infrastructure, or automate requests to our API beyond normal use of the client;
• use Valen to evade an anti-cheat system, bypass a server ban, or claim that a server permits the client when it does not;
• use Valen to harass, defraud or cause harm to other people, or to break any law that applies to you.

Breaking any of these is a material breach. We may suspend or terminate the key under section 10; refunds remain subject to section 9 and rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

5. Keys, machines and expiry

Your key binds to the first machine that authenticates with it and runs on one machine at a time. On Windows, the loader reads the system MachineGuid; on other supported systems it uses a composite of account and system details. The loader applies SHA-256 before sending the value, and our server applies SHA-256 again before storing or comparing it. No separate salt is used. The raw system value is not stored in our database or logs.

You can move a key to a different machine, but only so many times per calendar month. The allowance depends on the plan and refills on the 1st:

• 30 days — none. The first machine it binds to is final.
• 90 days — one HWID change a month.
• Yearly — two HWID changes a month.

Hardware changes, an operating-system reinstall, a virtual machine, or a different operating system can produce a different identifier. We cannot guarantee that a machine identifier will stay stable. Licences stop authenticating at the end of their term; there is no grace period and nothing renews automatically.

A key activates on first use — its term starts the first time it authenticates and binds to a machine, not when you buy it. An unused key has not started.

Keep your key private. You are responsible for what happens under it, and a leaked key may be banned.

6. Third-party servers and bans

You are responsible for reading and following the rules of any server you connect to, and the Minecraft end user licence agreement. Using Valen does not grant permission to evade a server ban or anti-cheat system. We do not promise that a server will permit the client, or that an anti-cheat system will fail to detect it. We are not affiliated with Mojang Studios, Microsoft, or any server or network, and we do not act on their behalf.

7. Availability and updates

Valen is delivered as a service: the loader authenticates against our servers at every launch and downloads the current build. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may take the service down for maintenance.

We may add, change or remove modules and features at any time, including features you rely on, as Minecraft, Forge or the servers you play on change. We may also discontinue Valen entirely. If we permanently discontinue it before a paid fixed term ends for a reason unrelated to your breach, we will, where feasible, give reasonable notice and either provide replacement access for the unused period or refund the unused part of the term. This does not apply where access ended because of your breach, a payment reversal or a legal requirement.

8. Payment and tax

Purchases are processed by Stripe. Stripe is the payment processor, not the seller or merchant of record for the licence. The seller remains responsible for determining and, where applicable, collecting and remitting sales tax or VAT. The processor may calculate or collect tax only where the checkout and account settings enable it.

We never receive or store your card details — see the Privacy Policy. Prices are shown before you pay, charged in the currency displayed at checkout, and any applicable tax is shown there. You remain responsible for bank fees or currency conversion costs your own bank charges.

The licence itself — what you may do with Valen, and what we owe you — is between you and Valen. Stripe handles the transaction, not the licence.

9. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms. Before redirecting to payment, checkout asks you separately to accept these terms and to request immediate digital supply while acknowledging that, where applicable law permits, the right of withdrawal ends when supply begins. The payment page records the terms acceptance and the immediate-supply acknowledgement with your order. The full refund rules and any non-excludable statutory rights are set out in that policy.

If you raise a chargeback instead of contacting us, we may suspend the key while the dispute is open. See section 10.

10. Suspension and termination

We may temporarily suspend a license while investigating suspected sharing, abuse, authentication interference, a payment reversal or dispute, or where the law requires it. We may permanently terminate it for a material breach, a shared or resold key, a payment reversal decided against you, or a legal requirement. During a suspension you must not use the client. Where the breach is minor and fixable we will normally warn you first, unless that would create a security or legal risk.

If you believe a suspension or termination is wrong, email support@valen.cx with your order reference, key and a short explanation. We will review it and restore access if the action was a mistake. If we end access for a reason not caused by you, and no legal requirement prevents it, we will either restore access or refund the unused paid term. Customer- caused suspension or termination does not itself create a refund right.

You may stop using Valen at any time by deleting the loader. Stopping use does not by itself entitle you to a refund; see the Refund Policy and any statutory rights that apply.

11. No warranty

Valen is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, compatible with your setup, or undetected by any anti-cheat.

Nothing here excludes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded under the law of your country.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for loss of data, for loss of game accounts, ranks, cosmetics or in-game purchases, or for loss of profit or opportunity, however caused.

Our total liability to you for any claim connected to Valen is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product and the law change. The version and effective date at the top identify this copy. Material changes will be announced on the website where feasible before they take effect. A fixed-term purchase keeps the version recorded with its order for its purchase and refund terms; changes to price or paid access apply prospectively. Security, legal and operational changes may take effect sooner where necessary. If you do not accept a new version, stop using the client and contact support if you believe a refund or other remedy applies. Ask support for the version that applied to an earlier order.
