1. This agreement
Valen (“Valen”, “we”, “us”) is a modification for Minecraft 1.8.9, operated by Valen. These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and us covering the Valen website, the loader, the client itself and any support we provide.
If you do not agree to any part of these terms, do not buy a license and do not use the client.
2. Who may buy
You may buy a license if you are at least 16 years old, or if you are older than 13 and have permission from a parent or guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement and to make the payment you are making.
3. What you are buying
A license is a personal right to use the software, not ownership of it. Subject to these terms and to your payment clearing, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and run Valen for your own personal, non-commercial use, on one machine at a time.
All intellectual property in Valen — source code, compiled builds, artwork, interface design and branding — remains ours. Nothing in these terms transfers any of it to you.
Every plan is for a fixed term — 30 days, 90 days or a year — and ends when that term does. A licence is also only usable for as long as we continue to operate and distribute Valen. See section 7.
4. What you may not do
You must not, and must not help anyone else to:
- share, sell, rent, lend, sublicense or publish your license key;
- redistribute the loader or the client, in whole or in part, modified or not;
- reverse engineer, decompile, deobfuscate or otherwise attempt to derive the source of any part of the software, except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded;
- circumvent, disable or interfere with licensing, authentication or hardware binding, including by spoofing a hardware identifier;
- attack, overload or probe our infrastructure, or automate requests to our API beyond normal use of the client;
- use Valen to harass, defraud or cause harm to other people, or to break any law that applies to you.
Breaking any of these is a material breach, and we may ban the key involved without a refund.
5. Keys, machines and expiry
Your key binds to the first machine that authenticates with it and runs on one machine at a time. The binding is a SHA-256 hash of a hardware identifier; the raw value is never stored.
How many times a key may be moved to a different machine depends on the plan:
- 30 days — none. The first machine it binds to is final.
- 90 days — one.
- Yearly — unlimited.
Replacing hardware, changing a motherboard or reinstalling your operating system can change the identifier and use up a machine change. On the 30-day plan that ends your access, with no refund. Buy the plan that matches how you actually use the machine.
Licences stop authenticating at the end of their term. There is no grace period and nothing renews automatically.
A key activates on first use — its term starts the first time it authenticates and binds to a machine, not when you buy it. An unused key has not started.
Keep your key private. You are responsible for what happens under it, and a leaked key may be banned.
6. Third-party servers and bans
You are responsible for reading and following the rules of any server you connect to, and the Minecraft end user licence agreement. We are not affiliated with Mojang Studios, Microsoft, or any server or network, and we do not act on their behalf.
7. Availability and updates
Valen is delivered as a service: the loader authenticates against our servers at every launch and downloads the current build. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may take the service down for maintenance.
We may add, change or remove modules and features at any time, including features you rely on, as Minecraft, Forge or the servers you play on change. We may also discontinue Valen entirely. If we shut the product down permanently, we will try to give reasonable notice on the website.
8. Payment and tax
Purchases are processed by our payment processor, which takes the payment, and calculates, collects and remits any sales tax or VAT owed on it.
We never receive or store your card details — see the Privacy Policy. Prices are shown before you pay, charged in the currency displayed at checkout, and any tax is added there. You remain responsible for bank fees or currency conversion costs your own bank charges.
The licence itself — what you may do with Valen, and what we owe you — is between you and Valen. Our payment processor handles the transaction, not the licence.
9. Referrals
Every licence comes with a referral link. Someone buying through it gets 5% off, and you earn 5% of what they actually pay, before tax.
- Commission is recorded when the order is paid and settled manually — email us to be paid out.
- If an order is refunded, the commission earned on it is reversed.
- You cannot use your own code on your own purchase.
- A banned licence earns nothing, and we may disable a code that is used for spam, misrepresentation of what Valen is, or self-dealing through additional accounts.
- We can change or withdraw the referral programme at any time. Commission already earned and not reversed will still be paid.
Referral earnings are your own income to declare where that applies to you. We are not your employer and this is not a partnership.
10. Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms. Because the product is delivered digitally and immediately, you expressly ask us to make it available as soon as you pay, and you acknowledge the effect this has on any statutory right of withdrawal — set out in full in that policy.
If you raise a chargeback instead of contacting us, we will ban the key while the dispute is open.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your license, without refund, if you break these terms, if your key is being shared or resold, if you charge back a payment, or if we are required to by law. Where the breach is minor and fixable we will normally warn you first.
You may stop using Valen at any time by deleting the loader. Stopping use does not by itself entitle you to a refund.
12. No warranty
Valen is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, compatible with your setup, or undetected by any anti-cheat.
Nothing here excludes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded under the law of your country.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for loss of data, for loss of game accounts, ranks, cosmetics or in-game purchases, or for loss of profit or opportunity, however caused.
Our total liability to you for any claim connected to Valen is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product and the law change. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced on the website. Continuing to use Valen after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the client.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, and the courts of Hungary have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of your own country.
